Crochet/Unraveling crochet from the beginning

Question
Is there a way to unravel the crochet from the beginning? I got about halfway done with my baby afghan before I realized I have a major mistake at the start. Can I take it out at the beginning and some how keep it from unravelling?
Thanks!

Answer
Crochet can be undone from the beginning, but is a painful stitch by stitch process. Each part of the stitch can easily form a knot that stops the rest of the work from coming undone - unlike knitting.

It would be impossible to undo the beginning and rework it to make it look like it was supposed to if done correctly. You could use the beginning like a chain, and add a border or other work to the afghan.

Hope this helps.
