Question
Attempting to make a small lap rob for our Veterans.  I want to make Navaho pattern but don't know how to adjust the number of stitches to make it small-ie approx 48inchs  by 36 inchesfor wheelchair use.  I also do not understand how to connect each row from the same side.

Answer
If you are working from a pattern, there should be a gauge. It will tell you how many stitches and rows are equal to 4 inches. You should be able to make your calculations for size from it.
