Question
I have got as far as row 34 with no issues but am completed stuck on row 35 & 36 under Centre Strip secion, can you please assist?  I am a bit stumped as to how the number of stitches go from 12 - 164.

Row 35 - Ch 3, dc in each st and in each ch-1 ap with 2 dc in ch-2 sp, turn (12(12,16,20)dc)
Rnd 36 - Now working in rnds, ch 1, sc in each st across, working in ends of rows, 2 sc in end of each row across, working in starting ch on opposite side of row 1, sc in each ch across, working in ends of rows, 2 sc in end of each row across, join with sl st in beg sc, turn. (164(172,188,204)sc)

Answer
Carina:

Thanks for the question.

Yes you would go from the 12 stitches on row 35, to 164 on row 36.

In row 36, you are working around the whole piece, in the round (because you are going around the whole piece) so you will do the 12 sc, then you will do 2sc on the ends of all rows, going back to row 1, (35 rows, at 2sc = 70) then on row one, you will do the 12 sc, then go up the next side (35 rows at 2sc = 70) and you will end where you began. So we have 12 + 70 + 12 + 70 = 164.

Hope this helped and you are able to see how the numbers are built. Should you need any assistance, please let me know.

Happy Hooking
