Crochet/apache tears afghan pattern

Question
Ed,
You answered a question about this pattern for me in March.  I have found a problem with the written pattern from the Linus Project.  Rows 1-11 worked up beautifully.  When I got to row 12 there was definitely an error in the pattern.  Instead of doing a long treble in the first stitch when it was time it indicated to do 7 single crochets than a long treble rather than a treble and then the 6 singles.  In doing so It threw the whole pattern off because the pattern runs 1 long treble then 6 single crochets at the beginning of the pattern.  So if you do row 12 the way it states it really looks like you forgot to start the long trebles over again and would always have an extra single crochet at the 12th row of the patter.  I wanted to send a picture of the beginning of my afghan that shows what it looks like after I amended the pattern but my computer says it's in the wrong format. Row 12 should start off with 1 long treble and 6 single crochets. Than row 13 starts as 1 single crochet than a long treble. It took me about an hour to figure out what was wrong when I got to that point.  Now the afghan is looking beautiful especially with the fringe I am leaving on it.  Is there any way they could amend the pattern so others do not get frustrated with problems with this one like I did?

Answer
Donna:

Yes you can. Contact the publisher or the designer. If its from a web site, there is usually a way to contact either one.

Not all patterns are written well. At times one person makes the piece and another make the pattern.

One thing you can do is ask clarification on those rows, and then provide them a solution that worked for you.

I want to thank you in advance, because you want others not to get frustrated like you did, and actually taking the time to doing something about it.

If you need any help, please let me know.

Have a great day

Happy Hooking
