Question
I have been crocheting for about 30 years.  I have done easy thru experienced patterns, but have a problem with 1 pattern instruction.  The instruction says "ch 10 and join.  1st row: single crochet in each st around"  How do you do this without getting the chain twisted uncontrollably???

What I have been doing when a pattern calls for this is chaining a smaller amount and then working the sc into the circle, but it does not look the same.  Please help!

Thank you

Thanks for the question, sorry for the delay in responding.

The way I keep it where it does not twisted is by looking where I do the stitch in each chain. So in other words, I stick my hook in the middle of the chain, that way I make sure that it stay straight even if the loop got twisted. When I join a chain that big I run my fingers to keep the chain straight and the join it, that way I know when I joined it, it is straight.

Hope that helped. Should you need any assistance, please let me know.

Happy Hooking
