Crochet/increase pattern size

Question
I found a pattern on premieryarns.com called Crocheted Snowballs Throw.  I would like to increase the size from 44" square, to at least 56" square, but don't know how to do it.  How many chains would I begin with?  Also, how much extra yarn should I purchase?  Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks for the question.

Since this is just a repeat of a shape, I can give you a suggestion and how I came up with this number

there is 207 chain for 44 inches so that is 4.7 stitches per inch.

You need another 12 inches, so that would then be 56 more stitches.

So your beginning chain should be about 263

Now for the length, you just continue till you have the 56 inches.

I would suggest 1 more ball of each of the colors, if you are following the gauge.

Hope this helps, should you need any assistance, please let me know

Happy Hooking
