Question
It's been a while since I've crocheted.  But I picked up a liesure arts book on cute critter purses to crochet and already seem to be missing something in the understanding can you help.  the first row says to Rnd 1 (Right side): 2 Sc in second ch from hook, sc in each ch across to last ch, 3 sc in last ch; working in free loops of beginning ch (Fig. 3b, page 22); sc in next 10 chs and in same st as first sc; do not join, place marker to mark beginning of rnd (see Markers, page 21):26 sc.  It doesn't tell me to turn for the next row I counted and have the 26 stitches do I turn or what?

Answer
Jeanette:

Thanks for the question.

This pattern you are crocheting in the round, so there may not be any turnings.

You should have a oval piece with sc all around. The marker is to let you know where the beginning / ending of the circular row is.

Hope this helps. Should you need any assistance, please let me know.

Happy Hooking
