Question
I'm making a baby afghan out of the Ripples Baby Leisure Arts little booklet.  The pattern starts off by chaining 155 ch loosely. turn and hdc in 3rd ch from hook and remaining chains across = 154 st  I've done it several times and not once have I ended with 154 st.  I have went on to the next row anyway thinking 154 st has to be a misprint but the ripple pattern is thrown off.  Is this possible when making 155 chains and starting next row in third chain from hook?  If so, how because I only get 153.

Answer
Teresa:

Thanks for the question.

There is an error. When doing a chain and turning, doing a stitch on the 3rd chain would be for a DC not a HDC, for the HDC it should be start at the 2nd chain, and that will give you the 154 chains you will need.

Hopefully this will help. Should you need any assistance, please let me know.

Happy hooking
