There are many ways you can finish the edges. You can use a shell design you can create slight ruffles you can fringe it. Or as simple as 2 to 3 rows o's single crochet.
I usually finish mine with a gradual scallop edge (sc, hdc, dc, dc, hdc, sc) with a slip stitch in between.
