Question
Dear Vinette,  I just completed 44 motifs for a Patons crochet pattern named Romantic ensemble.  The motifs were in two rounds.  Now I am very puzzled how to join them because it states:

Work 44 motifs 2 by 22 joining sides as follows:
2nd round: Ch. 1 1 sc in loop just formed.  Ch 5. (1 sc.Ch 2. Sl st in corner ch-5 sp of adjoining motif. Ch 2. 1 sc) in next ch -4 loop for corner.  (Ch 2. Sl st in ch-5 sp of adjoining Motif. Ch. 2. 1 sc in next ch-5 sp) twice.  (Ch. 2. Sl st in corner ch 5 sp of adjoining Motif.  Ch 2. 1 sc) in same sp. as last sc.  *Ch 5. 1 sc in next ch 4 loop. Ch 5. (1 sc. Ch 5. 1 sc) in next ch-4 loop for corner.  Rep from * once more. Ch. 5. Sl st in first sc. Fasten off.

I just don't get it.  1. How many motifs is this part joining and which sides? 2.  In Rd 2 there is no ch. 4 loop.  Round 2 had all ch 5 loops? Any help would be greatly appreciated...I was up until midnight trying to figure this Patons pattern out.  THANKS!!!  Barbara....

Answer
HI Barbara,
From the sounds of it you are joining 2 rows of 22 motifs.

Can you tell me what row 1 reads.  Maybe there is something there that can assist me to better assist you.

There may be a clue in row 1.
