Crohns Disease - blood tests

Expert: Odette Yuhas - 10/23/2005

Question
I'm not your typical crohns patient as my blood doesn't always show inflammation but if they then do a colonoscopy the crohns is active.  My old doctor's were aware of this little quirk of mine but my new ones think I'm lying.  I'm trying to find others who this has happened to since they won't call my old doctors to have this confirmed.  Has this happened to anyone else?

Answer
Hi Marcy

I am so sorry, I have never heard of this either and I am not a doctor, just a CD patient.  I would suggest that you find a new doctor if he/she thinks it is all in your head. Also, maybe you should get your records from your old doctors and show to new ones?  Also, ask your new docs to do a CT scan. Sorry this is short, but we are having a hurricane here in Fla.

Odette
