preparing clothing for stitching, how many threads to be used on which Aida
cloth, and will try to help you to the best of my ability with other
questions you may have. I am prompt in my responses and usually answer

Question Hi,
I have a cross-stitch kit that came with 14 count aida cloth, where the finished design will be 10"x14". I want to use 18 count, but don't know what size the finished design would be/how much fabric to buy. Is there an easy calculation to figure this out?
Thanks so much!
Robin
Answer Hello, Robin
To ensure that the picture will fit the 18 count, be sure to add a minimum of 6" to the current design size. For instance, as your design size is 10"x14", you'll need fabric cut to 16"x20". This will also make sure that you'll have enough fabric to fold over the acid-free mounting board for framing.
I hope that helps. Good luck, and happy stitching! :)
