Question
I have a pattern with a finished size of 4 1/2 by 6 1/2 inches. How can I alter this pattern to a larger finished size using the same 14 count aida cloth?

Answer
Hello Laura

If the measurements for the pattern you have is for 14 count Aida cloth, then the only easy way I know to make the finished size larger is to use a larger Aida cloth.

To make the image larger on the 14 count would require added extra stitches. This could be done if you have a cross stitch computer program, but I don’t know of any easy way to do this.

My only suggestion, like I stated before is to use a larger Aida cloth and save the 14 count for another project. Sorry that I couldn’t be more helpful with this question.

Needlecrafts have been a part of my life for years. I sew, cross stitch, knit, crochet and bobbin lace, just to name a few. Cross stitch was one of the firsat crafts that I learned as a child and has stayed with me as a wonderful and peaceful artistic way to express myself.
