Question
Hi...on my pattern there is a small flower that is supposed to look like it's been done on an embroidery hoop. How do I make that oval shape on 14 count aida cloth. It looks like that daisy stitch you would do if you were doing embroidery but this is cross stitch? Thanks for any help you can give me.

Answer
Hello Brenda,

The stitch you are referring to usually goes by the name of Lazy Daisy stitch. It is a simple cross stitch, and you are correct in comparing it to the embroidery daisy stitch as it is pretty much the same thing.

Below is a link to a site that shows how to create this stitch on Aida cloth. I hope this helps.

Needlecrafts have been a part of my life for years. I sew, cross stitch, knit, crochet and bobbin lace, just to name a few. Cross stitch was one of the firsat crafts that I learned as a child and has stayed with me as a wonderful and peaceful artistic way to express myself.
