Question
Stony Creek, Wedding Blessings.  This pattern calls for Anchor #8 Pearl cotton.  I found DMC 12 cotton perle.  It seems rather heavy to be mixed with Glissengloss 558.  Is this the same thread>
I can't find Glissengloss.  Stitch/Count in my area closed.  A real bummer!  I need 558 Ice and 517 pine forest.

Is Krenik metallics Balger blending filiment the same as Rainbow Blending thread?

Mill Hill Glass Seed beads.  I can't find them either.

I live in the Easton, Pa area.

Thanks,
Kelli

Answer
Kelli,

What a beautiful piece. Anchor #8 is the same size as # 8 DMC perle cotton. #12 is thicker. The Glissengloss is a metallic thread from Rainbow. Krenick is a different manufacturer. You may be able to find an adequate substitute for the Glissengloss, but it might difficult and not have the same effect.

My suggestion is to contact one of the online shops. I know of a couple. www.stitchesnthings.com, http://the-stitching-post.com or www.stitchandframeshop.com. All of these shops sell the fibers and beads you need. You can also go to Hoffman. It is a on-line distributor. You cannot purchase from them, but they have a lsit of several more on-line stores. The website is www.hoffmandis.com On the home page there will be a link to list of on-line stores on the menu at the left side of the screen.

I wish you success on this beautiful project!

Happy Stitching!
Kris
