Expert: Angela - 3/15/2008
QuestionI want to make a king size quilt using the Missouri State Bird & Flower, on the fabric Aida or Linen or other fabric.
I have a pattern I like it's from (The Counted Cross Stitch
Store, that is online and can't make head or tail what to do with it.
My Mom does stamped cross stitch & that is all I know how
to do. I Look and Look online for this pattern. It is the one I wanting to do. I'm doing our bedroom with birds theme, I see online you can print on the fabric using a printer but I want to use DMC Embroidery thread can you tell me how to get this pattern on stamped blocks or how to do it some other way. Thanks for any help you can give me
AnswerHello, David :)
In order for you to accomplish this, you'll need to purchase the PC Stitch program, which I have. It is located here:

You'll be able to import that design into the program, and then create whatever colors you'd like, etc. It's a wonderful program. :)
With regards to the Aida, or linen, I don't think that you can purchase enough fabric for that off of a single bolt of fabric. You would need to purchase a lot, and then sew the pieces together to make it king size. I would suggest stitching this design onto an afghan on either of these 2 sizes:

The 3rd and 4th afghans don't appear to have the blocks on it, so you may be able to stitch the design onto it without any problem.
After looking at what you were trying accomplish, I would highly recommend stitching that onto one of the bottom 2 afghans from Crafter's Pride. That would be extremely exquisite, and you can still spread it overtop of any bedspread. :)
If you require further assistance on how to get started, please don't hesitate to contact me again. :)
Sincerely,
Angela :)
