Cross Stitch/How much aida to use

Question
I am cross stitching a sampler that calls for 25 count linen, however I plan to use 14 count aida.  The instruction booklet says the size of the project is 186W x 156H.  It does not give a measurement in inches for the finished size.  What size 14 count aida do I need for this project?  Thanks.

Answer
Chris,

I will be happy to help. Anytime you need to figure fabric size, simply divide the stich count by the size fabric you are working on.

186/14 = 13.3 + 6 (3 inches extra per side for framing) = 19.3

156/14 = 11.1 + 6 = 17

So 19 x 17 piece of Aida for your work.

I hope this was helpful.

Happy Stitching!
Kris
