Question
QUESTION: Hi Angela,
I haven't cross stitch for quite awhile and I don't remember what to do.
I will be using #5282 a metallic gold floss listed with the floss. I have to do use beads #02011 #02011 so I think I would use the gold metallic floss but I don't know if I should use 1 or 2 strands. Also do I use 1 or 2 strands of regular floss to sew on the other beads the color to match the beads

ANSWER: Hello, Mary Lou :)

With regards to the metallic floss, simply use all of the strands, and be sure to cut the lengths a bit shorter as metallic floss tends to fray quite easily.

With regards to sewing the beads on, use 1 strand of the color floss that coordinates with the beads (ie. 1 strand of white floss to sew on white beads, etc.)

When you're stitching your design, use 2 strands of floss for the cross stitches.

I hope that helps.  Good luck, and happy stitching! :)

Sincerely,

Angela :)

QUESTION: Hi again Angela,
The DMC Metallic floss has 6 strands like the other floss, that's what through me off. I don't think it will fit in the tiny beads?
Do you think I should use 3 strands if it doesn't fit, other wise a clear nylon thread? What your opinion about the nylon thread?
Thank you very much, Mary Lou

Answer
Hello again, Mary Lou :)

You can try 1 strand of the metallic thread for the beads, and if it doesn't look good to you, then try the nylon thread and see how it looks.

I hope that helps a bit more, and my sincerest apologies for not being as clear in my last answer to you. :)

Good luck, and happy stitching! :)

Sincerely,

Angela :)
