Question
I bought a kit for a Christmas stocking.  The finished size is a huge 13" wide by 20" tall. (My newborn grandson could kit inside it). I would like the finished stocking to be around 16" tall. The kit came with 11 count aida. What size aida cloth should I use instead to achieve the finished product? Thanks for being out there to help. Donna

I will be happy to help you. I dont know the exact stitch count, but if the finished piece is 13 x 20 - then the stitch count is about 140 x 220. If you worked it on 14 count the finished size would be approximatley 10 x 16.

All you need to do is to divide the stitch count by the fabric size...

140 / 14 = 10 and 220 / 14 = 15.7

I would recommend 14 count!

I hope this was helpful!

Happy Stitching!

P.S. And by this Christmas, your grandson will be way to big to fit in the stocking! Enjoy him - they grow up too fast!!!
