Question hello i am making a historical sampler on 16 count antique the material is very stiff to work with can i wash it before sewing to soften it and make it more comfortable to work with thank you from karen
Answer Hello, Karen
Yes, you can wash it before you stitch on it. I would recommend hand washing it instead of machine washing it so that it doesn't unravel as much on the edges. Use lukewarm water, with a tiny bit of dish soap and just gently swish it around.
When you have finished stitching your project, please don't hesitate to contact me again, and I'll let you know how I clean my projects.
I hope that helps. Good luck, and happy stitching! :)
