Question
QUESTION: hiya just cannot get it the item i want to stitch is  27 count linen and want to do it on aida it is 48 cm by 38cm i know if something is 28 count linen u use 14 count aida but  what if its 27 count linen hellllpppp

ANSWER: Hello, Penny

You can use any fabric to stitch any project onto.  From what I'm guessing here, the 27 count fabric that you're talking about comes in a band...?  With some decorations on the side, or something like that?  The project that you have given me the measurements to sound like it's approximately 9 1/2"Wx12"L.  I would recommend a piece of 14 count Aida 15 1/2"Wx24"L.  This sounds like a banner type of project.  The measurements that I've suggested give you a 3" margin on both sides (left and right), and 6" margin on both top and bottom.  You can increase the length of the margin by adding an extra inch to both top and bottom.  Be sure to keep your stitching as centered as possible by folding it lengthwise and then again widthwise.

I hope that helps.  Good luck, and happy stitching! :)

Sincerely,

Angela :)

QUESTION: its not got any  pattern at the side its just plain linen the peice i want to do is called sweet dreams by maria van scarrenburgh  will it still be as good stitched on aida instead of linen  thanks for aLL OF YOUR HELP PENNY XXXXX

ANSWER: Hello, Penny

It will still look lovely on Aida as well as on linen. :)  I'll be starting a rather detailed project from Silver Lining called "Blue Lacecap Hydrangeas", and it was stitched on 32 count evenweave fabric using 1 strand of floss to be stitched over 1 fabric thread (VERY small).  i'll be stitching it on 18 count fabric instead.  The color is to be determined yet. :)

I hope that helps you further.  Good luck, and happy stitching! :)

Sincerely,

Angela :)

QUESTION: will this be better on 14 aida or 18 aida  what size  do i have  to get in aida  how much bigger  to normal  desighn size

Answer
Hello again, Penny

The project that you have given me the measurements to sound like it's approximately 9 1/2"Wx12"L, and it sounds like it could be a banner of some sort going vertically instead of horizontally (in other words, hanging from a hanger or something). With 14 count Aida, there's 14 stitches per 1" of fabric, and with 18 count Aida, there's 18 stitches per 1" of fabric.

As far as it looking good on either 14 or 18 count Aida, only you could determine that for yourself.  The only thing that I can say is that will look good on either of them. :)

I hope that helps you further.  Good luck, and happy stitching! :)

Sincerely,

Angela :)
