Question I have a cross stitch pattern that say the stitch count is 73"high x 53" wide. What will the finished size be and how much Aida cloth do I buy?
Answer Hello, Shirley
What I'd like to know is if the pattern is actually 73"x53", or if it's 7.3"x5.3".
There's approximately 10 stitches to 1" in 14 count Aida. So, if you're pattern is 73"x53", you'll need about 79"x59", allowing an extra 6" margin for the pattern to fit centered.
If the pattern is 7.3"x5.3", then you'll need 13.3"x11.3" of fabric.
I hope that helps. Good luck, and happy stitching! :)
