Question
I'm stitching 2 Christmas stockings on 14 count Aida.  For a variation, can I use a Perle Cotton and if so, how many strands.  Thanks in advance!

I've never used Perle Cotton before.  I would suggest trying out 2 strands and see if that covers the fabric well enough for what you want.  Stitch a small square (say about 4 stitches across, and perhaps 2 rows) to see the coverage.  If it doesn't look right, then try 3 and do the same.
