Question
I have a pattern that is 462 by 125.  I won't to stitch it on 18 count.  What size do I need to cut my material.

I will be happy to help you with your question! To find fabric size you divide the stitch count (per inch) by the fabric count (per inch). So in your case, you would divide 462 and 125 by 18.

462/18=25.7 and 125/18=6.9. I always round up to to the next whole inch, so 26 x 7 would be your design size. You also need to add at least 2 inches to each side for framing or finishing. So that would add 4 inches to each dimension. So I would cut your fabric 30 x 11.

You can use this method to find the fabric size for anything. Just remember that if you are going to work on say 28 count over 2, then your stitch count would be 14 stitches to the inch. Then you would divide by 14 instead of 28.
