Question
I just finished a cross stitch baby quilt for my new granddaughter.  I am a beginner and only had the directions from the kit to follow.  The front of the quilt turned out really great, but the back is not so pretty.  I am going put a backing on the quilt to cover up the ugly stitches and make it softer for the baby to lay on.  Is there a product I can put on the stitches before I add the backing to keep them from coming loose?

Answer
Linda,

Sounds like an adorable project! Unfortunately there is not a particular product to use. You could try an iron-on fusible backing to help hold the stitces and then sew a soft cotton or fleece over the backing. Also, tell them to wash it on delicate and hang it up to dry!

Happy Stitching!
