Cross Stitch/Evenweave to Aida

Question
Hi, I just bought a pattern and realized that it calls for evenweave.  My eyesight is not the greatest and I would much prefer to use 14ct aida.
The finished design size is 450W by 233H (18"x9-1/4") on 25ct evenweave.  What size fabric would I need to purchase in order to stitch this and not run out of cloth.
Thank you very much for your help.
Kathy.

Answer
Kathy,

If you want to use the 14 count, it will be much larger than on the 25 count.

To figure your fabric cut size, use this formula
design stitch count/stitches per inch = size design will cover + extra material for finishing (usually 2 or 3 inches on each side of design or 4 or 6 inches per length or width)= cut size

So for yours

450/14=32.14 or 32 + 6  = 38

233/14=16.6 or 17 + 6 = 23

On 18 count, it would be

450/18= 25 + 6 = 31

233/18= 12.9 or 13 + 6 = 19

I hope this was helpful! I understand about the eyes, I have to wear glasses and be in really good light!

Happy Stitching!
Kris
