Question
hi
I'm working on 36ct linen using DMC, over 2. Should I use one strand or 2 of DMC? The chart says one, but could refer to the other type of floss listed. I recently did a sampler on 35ct & used 2 strands of DMC. At what thread count do you switch from 2 stands to one (using DMC)? Is it at 36 ct?
Thanks,
Adele

Answer
Adele,

I would use 2 strands of DMC on the 36 count if working over 2 for full coverage. If I was working over one I would only use 1 strand. Working over 2 allows you to use 2 strands on those higher count fabrics. I really feel like it is a matter of preference - if you like the way it looks then that is what is important!

Happy Stitching!
