Question
QUESTION: I have a large supply of DMC floss, for my new project I would like to re-use some of these. Is there a chart where i can get info. on what other number i might use as an alternate. Usually I go to the shop and try to compare my floss with the given #, but this is so tedious. Any idea. Many thanks Margaret

ANSWER: Margaret,

Is the floss in a kit? If it is, try to contact the manufacturer of the kit and ask for a DMC conversion list. Most of them have one.

I hope this helps!

QUESTION: It is not in a kit. I have the color numbers of the available floss, but for instance: the new project requires #564, but i have 966 which is pretty close, and would have no problem using it. The problem is, that i have maybe 35 colors that I have to find similar replacements. Is there an easy way?

Answer
Margaret,

Unfortunately I do not know of any easy way. DMC has a website that you can check out. At one time , they had a list that grouped the floss by color families instead of number. Not sure if it is still available. The website is www.dmc-usa.com

Sorry I could not be of more help. I did not realize that you had sent me a follow up question. Sorry it took me so long to get back to you.
