Cross Stitch/Afghan Stitching and Teramo Fabric

Question
Kris, I plan to stitch 3 afghans before Christmas (already have them).  Having never x-stitched one, I have some questions about the stitching sequence and where to start.  I would appreciate any input you may be able to give me.  Also, are you familiar with the banding (I think) fabric "Teramo".  My LNS has been unable to locate (am not sure how hard she has tried) but would like to be able to give her a source from which to order...such as LC Kramer, Zweigart, etc.

I have never used this forum before and look forward to hearing from you re these 2 questions. Regards and keep on stitching!

Answer
Barb,

I hope I can help you. Three afghans by Christmas, I am impressed. I have done one afghan before. I started at the top left corner. It is really whatever suits your stitching style. I usually start larger projects in the top left corner, so I am not rubbing my arm or hand over a previously stitched area much. Also don't carry your thread very far in the back. On a picture I may go over 5 squares, but on the afghan I did, I only carried over three at the most.

I am sorry, but I cannot find anything about the banding you asked about. You may want to contact one of these on-line retailers and ask them.

What is the banding for and I may be able to find it that way also.

I hope I was helpful! Feel free to ask me again!

Happy Stitching!
Kris
