Question
Hello.  I am working on a Janlynn kit, Asian Sampler, & I seem to be stuck with a few of the techniques.  One portion of the design seems to use a Brighton Stitch, but I cannot be sure (the guide is not very clear) & my try doesn't look like the picture, even though the picture is small.  Another part of the design, Detail Chart 4, uses a Couching Stitch, but I cannot tell where in the design the stitch is used, or how to make it.  Any help with this specific kit would be great!

Answer
Hello, Andrea :)

Here is the website for making a couching stitch:

As for the Brighton Stitch, here's a website that I hope will help you:

I've taken a look at the Janlynn website to see what you're stitching.  That's lovely, and it's going to be absolutely gorgeous when you're done. :)

I hope that the above links will help you in creating your masterpiece. :)  Good luck, and happy stitching! :)

Sincerely,

Angela :)

Expertise

I have 22+ years of cross stitching experience, which includes stitching on Aida, evenweave linen, vinyl canvas, and have stitched a design on a cotton t-shirt using waste canvas. I have also worked with beads and blending filament in quite a few projects. I have made many projects which include cross stitched mugs, a keychain, pictures, magnets, and the cotton t-shirt. I can answer questions pertaining to preparing and cleaning fabric, preparing clothing for stitching, how many threads to be used on which Aida cloth, and will try to help you to the best of my ability with other questions you may have. I am prompt in my responses and usually answer within 24 hours from when you ask your question. I look forward to helping you. :)
