Cross Stitch - Needlepoint

Expert: Vinette de Phillipe - 8/6/2006

Question
I'm getting ready to needlepoint a design, "Harmony" from the book, "Beautiful Bargello."  The yarn changes every 2-3 stitches.  How can I handle this?  If I  stop to change yarn every 2-3 stitches this could take forever.  If I have to change yarn, do I leave the previous colors attached to the canvas or do I have to finish them off?  Thanks for any help you can provide.  Marj

Answer
HI Marjorie,
My suggestion is that you carry the yarns under the working yarns.  Usually in Bargello stitches are over several threads on the canvas.  If it is possible you may be able to work as much in one color before starting the next.
