Cross Stitch/Waste canvas query....

Question
Hi..I've had some waste canvas in my cupboard for years, and am about to finally use some of it.  I've measured it, and it seems to be 10 count.  How many threads should I be using to ensure good coverage and a neat result? Thanks!

Answer
Suze,

Most waste canvas is 10 count. I would use at least three strands, 4 may be better. Also make sure to use a laying tool or your needle to get the thread to lay flat.

The darker the color thread the better the coverage. Lighter colors tend to need more strands to cover.

I hope this is helpful. Please feel free to ask me anymore questions!

Happy Stitching!
