Question
i am working on a 14 count aida cloth.  The finished sized is 9 x 5.  I would like it to be smaller.  If I use an 18 counth cloth, will I get more of a 5x 7 size?

thanks

Answer
Hi,

I will be happy to help you out. The best way to determine finished size is to divide the stitch count by the count of the fabric you are stitching with. So a 126 x 70 on 14 count would be 9 x 5 inches but on 18 count it would 7 x 3.8 (almost 4) inches.

After you decide what size fabric to stitch on and determine the finished design size remember to add at least 2 inches on each side for framing.

Happy Stitching!
