Cross Stitch - bleeding

Expert: Vinette de Phillipe - 8/9/2007

Question
I have a stamped cross-stitch crib cover I am working on.  I spilled water on a small section and the blue stamp pattern bled.  I can still see the pattern, but now there is blue dye on some of the white parts.  Is there a way to get it out without ruining the fabric?  How do I get it out.  I'm not done, so washing the entire fabric is out.  Will it come out if I follow the wash instructions once the blanket is complete?

Thanks,

Lisa

Answer
HI Lisa,
The marks and extra blue should come out with following the instructions.  There is a product put out by Shout - color catcher, I think it is called.  You put it in the wash with items that may bleed and it absorbs all the free color so it does not get on your item.

they work great.
