Question
I live in Mexico and just bought a meter of cross stitch fabric for new projects. I was getting ready to cut it up and dive in when I noticed that the it only takes 5/8 of an inch for 10 squares one direction and it takes 3/4 of an inch for 10 squares in the other direction meaning that it isn't really "square" on a 100x100 block. It looks more like a rectangle. What should I do? which way should the fabric be longer, vertical or horizontal? or should I just ditch this fabric and try somewhere else?

Answer
HI Candi,
I have not come arcoss a situation like this before. As to the direction, a lot will depend on the pattern you are using.

Me, I think I would opt for some fabric that is square rather than rectangle in count.  It sounds like the company that makes that fabric created a second rather than a quality fabric.
