Question How is the best way to determine how much fabric you need when you have the design size? For example, if my design size is 9 3/8 X 12 1/4 inches, how much fabric should I buy?

There is not one answer to your question. The size depends on the type of fabric you choose. Fabrics range from 22 per inch to as few as 3 or 4 per inch.
