Question This has been driving me mad for ages! It was a film that started on a space prison ship, an alien escapes and makes it to earth. One of the female prison guards follows it down to earth to capture it, teaming up with a male cop. The alien survives by living inside people and then has control over them,he moves from various bodies throughout the movie. I am fairly certain the female was blonde. Any help would be great :-)

I will take a guess and say that the movie you are looking for is called, "The Hidden released in 1987.
Plot summary:
"An alien is on the run in America. To get his kicks, it kills anything that gets in its way, and uses the body as a new hiding place. This alien has a goal in life; power. Hotly pursued by another alien (who's borrowed the body of a dead FBI agent), lots of innocent people die in the chase."
DVD copies are readily available from all good dvd retailers. if the film you are looking for is not "The Hidden, then perhaps it might be its sequel, which was released in 1994.
