About 7devonapes
Expertise I will attempt to answer any questions in regard to weird, offbeat, twisted horror/cult/drama films. I also have a fairly broad knowledge of drama and comedy, particularly British films.
Experience I am a avid horror movie fan who grew watching Evil Dead, Re-Animator, Dawn Of The Dead, Return Of The Living Dead, Demons, Xtro, Night Of The Demons...etc. I have various Charles S. Balun books and other assorted horror guides for reference if needed. As well as horror/cult films, I watch a lot of drama - particularly British films.

Question I saw a movie when I was younger, I want to say it was late 80s/early 90s, but I believe it had been on video for a few years at that time (I want to say I saw it on like HBO one night).
ANYWAY, it's been hurting my brain trying to figure it out and research it, as I only have a few mental images of it. This has bothered me for years because I have such a vivid image of two/three events in the movie, and nothing else.
It was a horror movie, and the most vivid thing I remember were these people stuck in this hellish sort of carnival/house with a deranged family, and what sticks out is this sort of assembly line of mechanisms that when people are thrown on, it crunches them up, and spits them out into a pile of bones at the exit. I want to say there was a giant clown face on the exterior of this building that holds the assembly line, his tongue being the ramp that drags people into it, and spiked metal objects that pump up and down that resemble teeth. I want to say these people fell onto the ramp, and cheesily screamed as they entered, and then we cut to their bones getting spewed out.
I also remember an overweight cop that I thought was John Candy but isn't, and vividly remember him having dual exhaust on his sherriff's car, that exuded flames when he floored the gas petal.
I also am pretty sure I remember the two survivors driving off, and the cop letting them go at the end.
If you could figure this tough puzzle out, I would be incredibly impressed and appreciative. Like I said, the part that sticks out to me in my mind is that hellish assembly line thing, and for some reason I remember an old man at a dinner table before the people were thrown on it (either by falling through a boobie trap or maybe even getting thrown on it, I don't recall. I was maybe five or six years old.
Answer Hi Brock,
Sorry for the delay with getting back to you, but have been a busy of late with work, etc.
You were right about John Candy... as film you are looking is 1991's "Nothing But Trouble".
A plot summary from imdb.com follows:
"A financier [Chevy Chase] meets a spurned lover [Demi Moore] and agrees to take her to a business meeting. On the way there, they run a stop sign in a tiny town in the middle of nowhere. They are arrested and taken to the local court. But all is not as it seems: the courthouse and the "prison" are a maze of zany booby- traps and deadly contraptions. The antics of the captured couple as they try to escape from the mad judge and his bizarre family make up the rest of this unusual film."

Here is an excerpt from the film, featuring that deranged 'ride':

Best of luck!
