Question
Hi! I saw a movie when I was younger (probably made in 80's or 90's) about a couple of people that enter some kind of museum, mansion, or museum that has these exhibits of different periods of time i think. If you cross the red rope into the exhibit you somehow are transported into the real life version of the set. One of the sets if i can remember is where she enters ends up in a dinner (banquet old school dress type dinner) and it turns out they are all vampires. the point is to get out of this place alive and not end up turning into a part of the exhibit.

Answer
Hi Nathalie,

Not quite sure about this one, though will take a guess and say it's possibly a film from 1988 called "Waxwork". Zach Galligan ("Gremlins") and Michelle Johnson ("Dr Giggles") are the two leads. A sequel, Waxwork II: Lost in Time, was released in 1992.

Here is a plot summary from imdb.com:

"A waxwork museum comes to town, and a mysterious man invites some teens to come to a special showing at midnight. Once inside, while viewing different exhibits, the scenes come alive and the viewer is sucked into the story being portrayed."

Various scenes from the film can be found on Youtube, here is the trailer:

There's even a fan site here at:

I don't this title has been officially released on DVD just yet, though DVD-R copies are available on ebay, ioffer, etc. VHS copies are readily available through Amazon.com and ebay.

Best of luck!
