Answer
Hi Charles,

Am guessing this was a live action Japanese show from 1966 / '67 called "The Space Giants".

From wikipedia:

"The Space Giants is the English title of this series. The show is most notable for its humanoid robot heroes who responded to crises by transforming into rockets to combat a wide variety of dinosaur-like space monsters, and faceless, ninja-like villains called Lugo men (ningen-modoki literally mock-human) who melted into oozing blob-like slime when killed."

Various scenes from the series can be found on Youtube:

I don't think this title has been officially released on DVD just yet, though DVD-R copies are available on ebay, ioffer, etc. VHS copies are readily available through Amazon.com and ebay.

- If this aint the show you're looking for let me know and I will keep looking for you as it's no doubt another show you're thinking of.

Best of luck!
Ryan

I will attempt to answer any questions in regard to weird, offbeat, twisted horror/cult/drama films. I also have a fairly broad knowledge of drama and comedy, particularly British films.

Experience

I am a avid horror movie fan who grew watching Evil Dead, Re-Animator, Dawn Of The Dead, Return Of The Living Dead, Demons, Xtro, Night Of The Demons...etc. I have various Charles S. Balun books and other assorted horror guides for reference if needed. As well as horror/cult films, I watch a lot of drama - particularly British films.
