Question
I was talking to my boyfriend about this weird movie I watched about a year ago, but I can't remember the name of it and it's driving me crazy.  It's got to be an independent movie, it's relatively short, and I swear it was on the LOGO channel because if I remember correctly it has a gay undertone to it.  I'm driving myself crazy with this, so I may be starting to confuse myself, but I think it was about a boy who gets beat up, maybe raped, and I swear it has something to do with bugs (as in insects).  I can't remember if the title is something to do with a bug, or if they're in the movie.  I swear, I'm not crazy, I saw this movie.  The only other thing I can remember is I think it has a one word title.  I can't find anything through search results and I'm going nuts.  Can you help me?

Answer
Hi Katy,

I will take a guess and say the film you are looking for is a 36 minute Short released in 1996 called "Bugcrush". Carter Smith directed the film, based on Scott Treleaven's original short story.

A plot summary from imdb.com follows:

A small-town loner's fascination with the new kid in town leads him into something much more sinister than he could ever have imagined

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0492940/

Here is the films official website:

- And, an excerpt posted on Youtube:

You can also possibly the entire film here:

Part 2 - http://en.qoob.tv/video/clip_view.asp?id=11154

Best of luck!
Ryan

PS - Have never seen this film before. Looks interesting.

I will attempt to answer any questions in regard to weird, offbeat, twisted horror/cult/drama films. I also have a fairly broad knowledge of drama and comedy, particularly British films.

Experience

I am a avid horror movie fan who grew watching Evil Dead, Re-Animator, Dawn Of The Dead, Return Of The Living Dead, Demons, Xtro, Night Of The Demons...etc. I have various Charles S. Balun books and other assorted horror guides for reference if needed. As well as horror/cult films, I watch a lot of drama - particularly British films.
