Cult Movies/obscure horror

QuestionQUESTION: Hi,
I cant remember if the following two fragments were from the same film or separate films.
I believe it was reasonably old, unsure of the date but it was in b&w.
I think the film was possibly told as short stories.
Excuse the limited description.
--
A man is visiting his sister in a small town, it approaches the evening and residents warn him about staying out after said time. The man finds this very strange and decides to stay out despite the friendly advice from the local residents. He ventures to a restaurant, in which the staff ignore his requests to be seated, he eventually gets a seat and continues to complain. Eventually after being served it becomes apparent this is no ordinary restaurant and the advice he was given has now become clear; the restaurant is filled with vampires. He runs to his sisters and we then see that she is in fact a vampire too.
--
The sequence above that I've described was reasonably short which led me to believe that the next description again a short story was part of the same film.
--
A man becomes almost incessantly determined to kill his wife, after she makes some mistakes buying shopping items (i believe). He starts to feel urges to kill her but he cannot understand why. I vaguely remember a vinyl deck being played and his wife maybe scratching the record at which point it flashes back to him on his own. We now see that he has killed his wife and has arranged her parts all into small jars in the kitchen.
--
Sorry for the very limited description
The second story may have ended with the wife killing the man instead I'm unsure. But i clearly remember the jars, as I'm sure anyone would!!
I would absolutely love to own this film and have a chance to watch it in detail. It has fascinated me since.
Thank you for your time, I really hope you may know the film I am thinking of.
Thanks,
Adam.
ANSWER: Hi Adam,
The (one) film you are looking for is a British Horror anthology from 1973 called "The Vault of Horror"; a sequel to the earlier "Tales From The Crypt" film of '72. "Vault" was directed by Hammer / Amicus regular Roy Ward Baker, and stars a batch of cool old character actors inc. Terry-Thomas ("The Abominable Dr. Phibes", "Danger: Diabolik", etc.), and Tom Baker (of "Dr. Who" and "Little Britain" fame). Here is a plot summary from imdb.com:
"Five men trapped in the basement vault of an office building share visions with each other of their demise. Stories revolve around vampires, bodily dismemberment, east Indian mysticism, an insurance scam, and an artist who kills by painting his victims' deaths."

You can watch the entire film on Youtube - here is Part One:

You can also watch the entire 1972 "Tales From The Crypt" film on Youtube, here:

And, finally, a good site for similar British Horror flicks(plus "Vault" review):

DVD copies are readily available online from Amazon.com, ebay.com, etc.
All the best,

QUESTION: Ryan,
If you would be so kind again.
This next film was another old horror(ish) film. It was set in a house somewhere, I believe there were werewolves and all kinds going on in the house and outside. The distinguishing feature i remember; at the end of the film all the characters come out (even the ones that had been killed in the film) and take a bow together.
Unfortunately this is all i remember from the film, sorry for the very vague description.
Thanks,
Adam
AnswerHi Adam,
First, thanks for the feedback / rating, etc., I'm glad "Vault" was the film you were looking for. Regarding this next enquiry, I'm certain I've seen this film you're looking for, but can only think of "April Fool's Day" (1986) at the moment. I doubt I'll work it the title any time soon, so I recommend you either ask another movie 'expert' here on this site, or place submit this enquiry to imdb.com's handy "I Need To Know" section" at
http://www.imdb.com/board/bd0000001/threads/.
Again, sorry I can't give you an answer this time round as am drawing a blank... I hope you find the movie you are looking for!
Cheers,
Ryan
