Question
I remember a couple of shows I would like to identify: In one a man kept hiring beautiful young women to take care of his wife....but he really wanted to take their face because his wife had been burned badly and her's was gone.  In the other, a group of young people lived in a house...and if one were to go in the basement alone,  the would be absorbed into a canning jar that was previously full of a mysterious colorful liquid.

Answer
Hi Kathy,

I think the first film you're looking for could be a 1960 French film called "Eyes Without A Face" (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0053459/). If "Eyes" proves incorrect, here then are a few more titles that would be worth you checking out:

1) "Faceless" (1987) - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0095125/
2) "The Awful Dr. Orloff" (1962) - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0056040/
3) "The Blood Rose" (1920) - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0064902/
4) Tales From The Crypt's "Only Sin Deep" - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0716871/
5) "Mansion of the Doomed" (1976) - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0076361/

And of course, this:

The 2nd film you're looking for I think is the 1987 John Carpenter film, "Prince of Darkness" (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0093777/). You can watch the entire film on Youtube - here is part one (of 10 parts): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n1OSAYwslu4

All the best,
Ryan

I will attempt to answer any questions in regard to weird, offbeat, twisted horror/cult/drama films. I also have a fairly broad knowledge of drama and comedy, particularly British films.

Experience

I am a avid horror movie fan who grew watching Evil Dead, Re-Animator, Dawn Of The Dead, Return Of The Living Dead, Demons, Xtro, Night Of The Demons...etc. I have various Charles S. Balun books and other assorted horror guides for reference if needed. As well as horror/cult films, I watch a lot of drama - particularly British films.
