Cult Movies/70's tv movie/movie w/ "reincarnation" theme

Question
There is a movie I saw on tv in the 70's, never knew if this was an actual theatrical release at some point, or only made for tv; the details are few, but what I recall as the plot is a mother and child in a mysterious car accident, seemingly caused by supernatural fog/act of nature, but I vividly recall the windows fogging up and the both of them screaming horribly. The rest of it (and I may be merging another movie with this, it's unclear) had to do with a female relative thinking one of the victims of the crash has been "reborn" or just plain taken over a young female musician...what I recall of the ending is this searcher finding the musician (pianist?singer?both?) at a concert she is giving.
Probably considered dull and contrived by today's standards of entertainment, but the fact that I can't track it down has had me bugged for a long time. Made an impact on me, mostly b/c the crash scene was frightening for me as a child--made me afraid to ride in the car w/ my mom on rainy days!!
Thanks for any light you can shed!

Answer
Hi, DMC....

You have me completely stumped here... Everything you mention keeps triggering searhes to a movie called "Obsession" starring Cliff Robertson, but it is a MALE, not female, that becomes convinced that a woman is the "reincarnation" of his dead wife...

Is there anything else at all you can tell me about this movie? Send me a follow-up and let me know...

And, if you don't mind me asking, have you ever had anything to do with Young Harris College? Asking because of your "DMC" initials... good friend of mine was a professor there a few years ago...

I am a devout fan of horror films, from the Universal classics to the schlock of the 50`s, on through the 70`s to the splatter era, and straight up to "28 Days Later." Tom Savini films are an extra treat. Ask me about "Knightriders" if you don`t believe me. Anyone else own a copy of that classic?
