Question
This has been bugging me for years, but there was this movie that I remember catching on HBO or Showtime from the early to mid 80's during my childhood. I remember very, very little of it. It was something similar too Invasion of the Body Snatchers, but I believe the aliens actually stole people's skins and wore them. The scene I really remember is that this guy is chasing this woman around a building, it could be a warehouse or a utility building, and somehow his face is torn off. I'm not sure if she tears it off. And underneath his human face is a grotesque alien face. And I think it's revealed that the whole town is overrun by aliens.

Answer
Hi,

Sorry about the delay.

I think the film you're looking for is either a tv movie/series called "V" made in 1983, starring Michael Ironside, Robert Englund, and Michael Durrell among others.
I think "V" was originally a tv movie, then became a tv series that ran from 1984 to 1985, lasting 19 episodes. A plot summary from imdb.com follows:

"Aliens pretending to be friendly come to Earth and are received openly. The aliens have masqueraded themselves to look just like humans. When it is discovered that the aliens' planet is dying and that they have come to rape the Earth of its natural resources, the war for Earth begins. An important key to the humans' success is distinguishing the their own from the aliens."

The tv movie and series are available from eBay, Amazon.com, and Video Universe at various prices.

You can view a pic of one of the aliens at the following link:
