Hi, I'm trying to find the title of a movie I saw when I was very young. I remember very little about it apart from some imagery that stuck with me.
It was in black & white and seemed very old to me in the 1980's.  It may have even been a silent film.  Anyway, the movie featured monsters which looked like black blobs with snakes coming out of them for heads. I remember in one scene, a man was running from one of the monsters, and one dropped on top of him from a tree.
Any help would be welcome, thank you.

Hi, Geoffrey....

Could this film have possibly been one of those 1950's "creature features"? And could those black blobs possibly be huge brains?

What you're describing is very familiar, but I'm not coming up with anything... can you tell me anything else about it? Actors? Costumes? How the blobs were defeated in the end?

Anything you can remember will be helpful...

Thanks,

PCG

I'm afraid I don't remember much more than I've already written.  The 50's would probably be the most likely era for the film, but the blob-like monsters were probably not brains...they crawled on the ground and looked kind of like trash bags with a snake sticking out for a head (no fancy effects).  I don't remember anything else plot-wise because it scared me so much as a kid that I didn't finish watching it.
I do know I saw it on local television, as we didn't have cable at the time, but I doubt that helps much.

Thank you for trying.

Answer
Hi, again, Geoffrey...

I think I may be onto something with your "black blob" movie question... give me a couple of days, and I may have the answer... let me know if you get the answer before you hear from me, though... curiosity is killing me...

I am a devout fan of horror films, from the Universal classics to the schlock of the 50`s, on through the 70`s to the splatter era, and straight up to "28 Days Later." Tom Savini films are an extra treat. Ask me about "Knightriders" if you don`t believe me. Anyone else own a copy of that classic?
