Cult Movies/Easy Rider

QuestionHi Alberto,
I'm not at all sure to whom or what I should direct this question to but I thought I would at least start with you since I'm going through what turns up in the search engines. How can I find out more specific details about a particular movie-in this case the movie is Easy Rider. What I'm really after are the specific locations of some of the scenes in the movie. I have read reviews on the movie before that gave general areas but not the exact places where so much of the movie was filmed. For example, the spot early on in the movie with the old ruins where Wyatt (Peter Fonda) tosses aside his wrist watch; the rancher's spread where Billy (Dennis Hopper)and Wyatt dine with the cordial rancher; and perhaps the place where Wyatt, Billy, and the hitchhiker climb up on the rocks at sunset while Wyatt is pointing to something in the sky. These are excellent vintage places that would be great to get out there and re-live the time when Peter and Dennis did "their thing in their own time". So is there any way that you know of which can tell me just exactly where the specific places are that may appear in a "location" movie? Any insight you might have on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot!

AnswerHello there. As far as I know there's no simple way to actually know the exact locations of any movie. Mosto of the time, this kind of information is not shared in detail with the public because it is not perceived as interesting. As far as*this* film is concerned, the "locations" section of Imdb lists a number of places, some of which are more detailed than usual - I would advise you to visit this link:
http://italian.imdb.com/title/tt0064276/locations
Be aware, though, that Imdb is updated by anyone who registers to the website, and therefore is FULL of inaccurate information: use it as a first step in your research, and not as a Bible to trust. My suggestion is using Imdb to run down a first list, and then go to the places and ask to people around there - I would be surprised if the people working for tourism did not use the original locations as tourist traps!
