Question
I had seen a movie back in the 80's about a jack in the box that killed people by stabbing them in the heart and capturing their soul (I think) for a witch (maybe). One scene, it drug itself down a hall using a knife, it arrived wrapped as a present for children, the dad may have been a police officer? Memories of it are very fragmented. I have been searching for years, cannot find any information on it. Any help would be appreciated.

Answer
Hi Amanda,

I'll take a guess and say the film you are looking for is called "Demonic Toys" which was released in 1992.I know the film features a killer jack-in-the-box among other killer toys. A plot summary from imdb.com follows:

"A botched bust on a pair of arms dealers inadvertantly leads to the raising of a sixty-six-year-old demon with the power to bring toys to life as his personal minions. The demon is looking for a body to inhabit so he can increase his powers, and it just so happens that one of the police officers is pregnant with the ideal host. As the murderous toys close in on their victims, the officer must not only fight for her life, but for the soul of her unborn child."

Here is a clip from the movie featuring the jack-in-the-box:

The DVD is available from Amazon.com, Video Universe, and Ebay.

Best of luck,
Ryan
