QUESTION: Hi
I'm currently writing a dissertation on cult film and the affect that the internet
is having the genre. So although this is not a question regarding a specific
film as a knowledged fan of cult films I would love your opinion.
1. Have you found it easier to access more cult films and information through
the  internet?
2. Have you become a fan of a particular film, director or style as a result of
the Internet?
3. Do you feel if the popularity of a cult film increases it loses its appeal?  
4. Any thoughts on the internet in relation to cult films?
I know the questions are a bit vague Im just interested in others own
opinions, any thoughts would be very much appreciated

ANSWER: 1. of course, the web is awesome! there are sites like this one or indie sites or other fans. however so film giants try to create a following and fake cult stuff but thats the web you have to be careful what you experience.

2. sure the more info you get to more you feel like tou know a style or person or film.

3.to the hardcore fans, but they can be snobs and if one of the wrong people like what they like then it is time to like something else. but as a whole yes if the flick is awesome it does all the work and snowballs in to cult glory.
4.I think word to month spread fast but the web spreads before their are people there to know about it.

QUESTION: I dont suppose you have any sites or examples of film giants that have tries to make fake cult followings? I really want to study this area more

sorry I don't have any examples..........maybe all of the prefilm blitz from the planet terror and death proof flims. I remember reading on line about a great cult film about a girl with a gun for a leg and I found out after looking more that they weren't even out yet.  anyweay sorry hope this helps h
