Cult Movies/Late 80's/Early 90's TV show featuring clips of horror movies

QuestionHi, I was hoping you could help me out. As a kid (circa 1989-1994), I remember watching a very messed up, yet oddly fascinating and hilarious TV show very late at night on Comedy Central. It was done in the vain of Mystery Science 3000, however it showed clips from graphic cult horror films. The show was hosted by a changing group of comedians, and they would watch short clips from the films, cracking jokes while they watched them, then discussing the films afterwords. The reason the show sticks in my memory is because of the extreme violent content of the clips. It was on at like 2am so I suppose they could get away with it. For example I can specifically recall seeing the scene from Reanimator in which Herbert West decapitates Dr. Hill and then sticks his head onto a paper spike. I also remember seeing the end of Basket Case on the show too. I hope I'm not the only person who saw this show, its drving me nuts. Please help
AnswerHi, Corey...
Are you sure this was on Comedy Central? Asking because, at one time, there were two networks for comedy, The Comedy Channel and HA!. They merged and became Comedy Central. MST3K was one of the only major hits The Comedy Channel had for the first two or three years of it's existance. I can't imagine them allowing someone to steal the premise and do more with it, but, at the same time, it almost makes perfect sense...
I'm not doubting what you saw, believe me... just not finding anything from Comedy Central pointing that way... do you remember any of the comedians that made appearances on it, any of them at all??? If you can, it would be incredibly helpful...
Send me a follow-up with whatever else you can remember.. I'll keep looking here...
